Today’s unblogem post was originally going to be a compilation of complaining Cardinal corteges. However, once in awhile you run across something so odd, that the rest of of everything hits the back burner.

We ran across a poem dated circa 1857 by world renowned poet William Wordsworth Brewermode. It is Brewer fan at its finest.

“Ode to An Untucked Shirt”

By: William Wordsworth Brewermode

c. 1857

When I wake and check the scores
Upon a lovely Milwaukee morn
I chance to find a paragraph
Describing the work the Brewers did afore
And upon glancing up
I see a photograph
A dreamy lance that spurs the mind
I see it… it’s not a cuff, not a collar
Not a woman’s English garter
But rather the tail
Of an MLB jersey
But not any jersey…
One that is untucked

This means the Brewers have prevailed
Like a wind that swept across a plain
Like a cactus that found a crag and thrived
Like a dolphin leaping through the sea
Like a sailor reaching home
On Brauny, on Fielder, on Cameron, on Hardy
On Hall, on Gallardo, on Hoffman
Like Christmas that has come early
I celebrate!
Oh, to see that untucked shirt
‘Tis better than wine
‘Tis better than a summer evening
Spent with my dear Claire (just don’t tell Claire)
‘Tis better than a wagon ride
Across the English Countryside…

And the greatest moment is yet to come!
Like the Great Shirt Untuck in the Sky
Upon a cold November night
At Miller or in Texas
When the Brewers win it all
There will be 2 outs, and no one on
Gallardo will be up 0-2 in the count
The Brewers will be winning 7-0 in the game
3-0 in the Series
In the Greatest Series of them ALL!
The first World Series the Brewers win!!!
The 0-2 pitch comes
The wise umpire rings him up!
It’s the WORLD SERIES Shirt Untuck!
It’s the WORLD SERIES Shirt Untuck!
It’s the WORLD SERIES Shirt Untuck!
Let these shirt NEVER be tucked in again…

Help us find this guy. He deserves some free untuckem gear, a pat on the back, and perhaps some form of mild anti-psychotic medication. Either way, this is epic.

I tell ya… some people’s Brewer’s fans. It never ceases to amaze me.
