Rage-n-Recognition

What do you get when you combine fighting, scissors, T-shirts, and beer? Let’s find out.

I found a less than pleasant writeup today on fan etiquette at Miller Park on Inside Edition

“But there are dangers when so much alcohol is involved.  At Miller Park, INSIDE EDITION saw fans fighting on the stadium floor.  They were all taken away in handcuffs.  On Opening Day alone, there were 24 citations given and 25 people ejected from the park.

INSIDE EDITION saw one fan nearly passed out by the fifth inning and others just staggering around the stadium barely able to walk.

In one incident, witnesses say a Cubs fan was punched and kicked in the head by a rival Brewers fan after the game.”

If this was “The Cycle” I would probably have to call this a pop-up to the catcher. I am all for a good time, but let’s not embarrass ourselves. We are far to classsy of a fan base for this. Remember the “untuckem” creed people.

A nice little mention in OnMilwaukee.com this week.

“The ritual, which gained momentum last year, has been denounced by TV analysts and other players. It also has become a bit of a trademark for the team, inspiring a local clothing line.

I love it, OnMilwaukee.com publisher Andy Tarnoff said. “We’re finally badass.”

Badass is right Andy, and as you so eloquently stated, “Go tuck yourselves” if you don’t like it.

Never say Ken Macha doesn’t get EVERYTHING he can out of his players. This now apparently includes haircuts

“Ken Macha has become accustomed to calling on dependable reliever Mark DiFelice to help get out of jams this season. But the Milwaukee Brewers’ manager recently summoned DiFelice to escape a different kind of mess: a bad haircut.

On any given day, DiFelice can be found in front of a sink and mirror on the outskirts of the clubhouse bathroom, giving a teammate a trim. He keeps a set of professional clippers with him at all times, home and away.”

We can all assume that Dave Bush hides in his locker whenever DeFelice is around.

Finally, a new set of power rankings is out, and with it a notable mention for untuckem at SI.com. Sports Illustrated has the Crew ranked #6 right now and also threw in this little tid-bit.

Some teams, specifically the Cardinals, find it a bit disrespectful, but it’s a trend that can’t be stopped, especially now that a there are T-shirts to commemorate the trend.

Among the stated reasons the site gives for why this has caught on (and why Brewers fans should buy the T-shirts): “Because it screams Milwaukee … because the Cardinals think it’s bush league … because it makes Cubs fans angry.”

Guess where that T-shirt link takes you to? Yep, can you say momentum? It’s only a matter of time. We just got quoted on Sports Illustrated.
